AIWS organised in cooperation with IFCA a World Championship Freestyle for windsurfers under the age of twenty. We had already gotten a bit of information from Dieter, who was there last year as well. He had convinced us completely! After a lot of regulation, we managed to reschedule our exams and took part in this competition.
 

Finally arrived at the island, we were mind blown. The weather was warm, the water was clear, in short Sardegna is simply beautiful! There was already a nice breeze in Porto Pollo, and of course we took advantage of it. With my MauiSails Legend 5.0 I could sail very good throughout the whole afternoon. After our surfing session, we were expected to go to the press conference in Palau. We had to follow this attentively, and luckily we were rewarded by a nice buffet.
 


The first two days the wind wasn't very powerful, so the under twelve and under fifteen sailed for competition. It was amazing to see how these boys played with their sails!
 
The third day the under seventeen and under twenty category started. The whole day I've been able to sail with my 4.5 MauiSails Legend and Chili 99l. During the competition everything went well. My spocks and airjibes succeeded perfect. With  a big smile I was able to defeat a few boys. This day I gained a ninth place at the youth under twenty category. After all this competition with the boys, it was time for the girls competition. It was great to compete against girls from different countries. Later that day I was allowed to sail the finals against a girl from Denmark. After five minutes of competition I got to hear that I won, fantastic!
 

The last days we had to sail some more heats. I could keep the First Place in Girls category, but under twenty I ended in twelfth place.
 
With all these good memories to the World Championship Freestyle in Sardegna we are already looking forward to next year!!
