Camille Juban wins Pacasmayo Classic 2012
29th August 2012
I had a great time doing the San Carlos Quatro AWT contest, specially being with Keith, Brawzinho, Levi, Bernd and his father, such a great time sharing session with them and traveling... Iâm also really happy about my result there because the level was pretty high but sometimes itâs hard to fight against the experience of a guy like Levi Siver.
I was super excited to go to Peru and my plan was to go there right after Mexico so I had time to train and do a better result. When I arrive there I met a good friend Fabrice Beaux who had the same idea as me. It was perfect because we got to sail and train together.
My father and younger brother also came one week before and I even train harder with Tom my brother landing some tricks and sailing for hours and hours. I was really prepared for the single elimination and I knew I had to do good in the single because we were not sure to have enough conditions for the double elimination. So we did the single elimination in the first few dayâs, I liked the condition, did my best and it worked out. But I was sooo happy for my younger brother because heâs only 15 years old and gets this energy to sail the whole day, he improved so much before the contest that he even won a heat in front of the ex world champ Francisco Goya and finish 3rd in the single elimination.
After the end of the single we had no more conditions for couple of days. So it was perfect just to relax, visit and rest before the double elimination. Unfortunately the condition came back on the last day and by the time they run everything until my heat it was almost dark.
I knew it was gonna be just in time to do my heat but still I got to prepared and went to take a couple waves before my heat but even before my heat I almost couldnât see where I was gonna hit the lip because it was night time already. So they just decided to stop it and do the price giving. Iâm really happy with this first place because it got me a little bit more confident for the next events to be in the podium for final result.
See you on the water
