The TEAM’s Phil McGain, Australian World cup Veteran and past US Open champion arrived today in Corpus Christi Texas after his 4 hour Greyhound bus ride down from Houston.   Phil who is now part owner and operator of MauiSails has attended the US Open/Velocity Games on and off since 1989 and will be looking forward to the exciting racing Corpus Christi brings to the windsurfing race scene here in the USA.

Last year Phil narrowly missed out on the championship and finished second to Devon Boulon who took first place. Phil will be competing in the slalom discipline of the event and hopes for some strong winds and challenging conditions for the event. Phil currently resides in Maui, Hawaii and has been training for the past few months in preparation for the event. Challenging phil will be Devon Boulon the 2005 champion and another familiar face Jimmy Diaz.

Phil commented when he arrived today-“Corpus has always been a special place to race, it’s strong winds, warm water and friendly people makes it’s one of the most pleasurable stops on the World Circuit today. I’m hoping for some strong winds and a good turn out of competitors, so I can show off our new line of MauiSails TR2 race sails”.
