We finished on Saturday the first event of the Maui Race Series - BLUESMITHS Slalom Classic. I've never done it before but as this year I will based on Maui all summer long I will do it. Actually is a great event with excellent conditions for all kind of levels.


We had 8 races with around 18-25 knots of wind. On the first race I had my TR 2016 7.7 with my medium board.The sail feels great. It has good speed and excellent performance in a race course.I've never compete with them before, I was very happy with it.


On the other 7 races I was using my TR 2016 7.0 with medium board. Also great sail. One tip for the MauiSails sailors is if you want to have a little bit more low end range on the 7.0 you can just use the bigger boom. Normally i use the small boom on the 7.0 with very strong winds. During the races I want this little more range around the race course so I used the bigger boom and it felt great. All the races were very competitive, the sailors from Maui have good level and they are used to the conditions. We can't forget that Micah Buzianis, Peter Slate and also Dan Ellis were all racing. So all the races were very exciting. I managed to do good starts and in the end I had good races to win the event. Im looking forward for the next one!!
