Sarah-Quita on top of the World
2nd August 2006
Sarah-Quita Offringa, the newest MauiSails star, has risen in a short time to the top of the women's freestyle World. Sarah, now only 16, has won the PWA Fuerteventura World Cup women's freestyle event over Laure Treboux and World champion Daida Moreno.
After five solid days of PWA competition in Fuerte, Sarah fought her way to the top of the double elimination ladder and sustained a strong challenge from Laure Treboux from Switzerland who had to beat a hand full of top women sailors to meet Sarah in the final. Sarah performed like a veteran and nailed all her moves which gave her unanimous vote from all judges.
Also standing out in freestyle was Taty Frans, who came back through the ladder to win his first double final, only to be beaten in the last round to finish a strong second. We are so happy that these innovative and interesting young sailors chose MauiSails for their efforts. You can go on to our gallery and see some action shots of Sarah and Taty Frans ripping it up on Fuertaventura.
