Hi, I'm Luigi (Gigi) Madeddu, and I'm a MauiSails athlete for Italy. I live in Sant'Antioco, at the southwestern end of Sardinia. Here I'm training for freestyle competition, in a spot (il Laghetto) where storms and thermal winds offer me about 200 surf days a year.

In winter time, I spend two months (usually October and November) in Brazil, by Jericoara, where I always find amazing conditions, as you can see in my pictures. The rest of the year I stay here in Sardinia and touring Italy to participate to promotional events and competitions.

My favorite discipline is freestyle, but I also enjoy wave and sometimes I participate to wave competitions. My dream is to become an international athlete for MauiSails and, in a future, to open my own windsurf school, to promote the sport and my sponsors here in my beautiful island.
