The stunning National Park Zone of Brazil's Santa Catarina State welcomed the PWA for its inaugural visit to this breathtaking nature reserve and its high quality surf and round the clock breeze. Ibiraquera immediately turned it on for the PWA's return to South America. The fresh new tour stop provided logo high wave and wind on day one to allow competition to start immediately after registration.

Maui Sails Kevin Pritchard fought his way to 5th position and had this to say. "I was just happy to be hear, I just got my passport in time, came down here with little expectations and to come 5th place in a contest with so many good guys, I am stoked. I used my 5.3 Legend and that worked really great. The new 2008 Maui Sails have really come together and I am stoked on them! I am now on my way to Germany for the next stop on the tour. Looks to be a nice and windy event! Lets see what can happen!"
