Taty Frans got 3rd spot in PWA Bonair event
22nd June 2011
Yo Yo,...
Bonaire gave the 2011 PWA world cup just the perfect weather the host the Freestyle event, every one was ripping at his best, as Bonaire is just the perfect freestyle destination.
Going through the event, I had a great week. Sailing pretty consistent and keeping my head focus to get my podium finish is all I wanted and basically I have just achieve that. All my heats where really difficult from day one till the end.
Sailing against the top 5 best guys, Tonky, Kiri, Steven, Gollito was really hard. If you just make a one mistake you are out. So keeping myself focus and just plan ahead, really gave me a advantage.
Having my brother Choco getting back on the board just 2 weeks before the event started gave me a great feeling. He was just pulling of Culo, kono, air funnel and he literally didn't sail for 5 a 6 months. So it was truly amazing to see him finish 8th place in the 2011 King of the Caribbean world cup event. He was on the 2011 Loco 4.8 in of of his heats.
Having the wind blowing at 20-25 knots and the water really flat it was just amazing week for freestyling. I really enjoyed the 2012 loco the new 5.2 is really working and the changes we have made for the 2012 loco is what I have been searching for and now I really can say that we have a sail that is good for freestyle and I am sure you can use it in wave sailing.
All, my heats I did my my best to win, at times I made some crashes that pretty much got me losing but i know if I just stay focus I can always be in the top finalist.
In the end : Kiri got first and it's a well deserve win. Steven got 2nd smiling. Taty 3rd and I am pretty happy with this finish.
In the women's : Well Sara Quita really pushes her level up with sick freestyling style. and she is just pushing the limit. Laure got 2nd I would say that she really impressed me with double flaka, punetas, and she she got her level up another 2 notch, Yolli the brendt, got 3rd I would say I guess that for her to get third was a pretty hard as Xenia and Arianna was really hungry to get a podium finish.
Well now the next stop is Aruba, forecast looks good. Let see what happens there.
C' Yall.
