There was lots of action at the 2011 DaKine Classic held June 18th at Kanaha Beach park. For 27 years the Maui Race Series has been drawing Pro and Recreational sailors to their well run events. The DaKine Classic was the second of five events scheduled for the 2011 racing season.

MauiSails TR-7's were performing beautifully in the 20-25 m.p.h. trade winds for all the riders. Tamara Bockius won the Women’s Open division with precision jibing and blazing starts. Mike Yasak, once again sailed to victory in the Men’s 50-59 division while Phil McGain dominated with a first in the Men’s 40-49 division and took home 2nd place in the Mens Pro. Mark Boersma placed well with a 3rd overall in the competitive Men's 19-39 fleet.

Everyone enjoyed an awards beach party after racing with cookies and pizza provided by DaKine. If you ever find yourself on Maui in June or July, come join the fun at the Kanaha races!
